SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!
In the power rankings of phrases chanted three times in a row, the above likely ranks first in the minds of motorsports fans, just ahead of "Green! Green! Green!," "Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!" and way, way ahead of "Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!" from the TV show "The Brady Bunch."
Less than a week ahead of the Crown Royal presents The John Wayne Walding 400 at The Brickyard (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, ESPN), Indianapolis Motor Speedway has topped what we could've ever thought possible for the iconic phrase.
In perhaps the greatest ad campaign in the history of modern man (only slightly exaggerating) IMS takes the spirit of all those "Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!" drag racing ads featuring legendary motorsports announcer Jan Gabriel and bakes it into an apple pie filled with patriotism and awesome.
The video starts off with a quick disclaimer, warning everyone to prepare to get a "roundhouse of awesome, square in your facehole."
It then plays up one of the best characteristics of IMS, informing the masses that "it's got real bricks made of tears," while adding that "nothing is more American than The Brickyard, not even an eagle punching another eagle at a rodeo."
Not impressed yet?
Well how 'bout the fact that the race features "a bajillion drivers," 400 miles of "mensanity" and, if that wasn't enough, your pet chinchilla gets in for free.
Oh, and kids under 12, too, get in free.
If there were Oscars handed out for best race promotional videos, IMS's "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday at the Brickyard 400" would win them all.
Even Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a fan.
See for yourself.
