2: The number of drivers in Sunday’s STP Gas Booster 500 who finished higher in their respective Martinsville Speedway debuts than did Danica Patrick, who ran 12th in her first race at the .526-mile short track. Of the 42 other drivers in the field, only Mark Martin (third in 1981) and Jeff Gordon (eighth in 1993) enjoyed more productive first races at the paper-clip-shaped track. Brad Keselowski and Bobby Labonte, both NASCAR Sprint Cup champions, matched Patrick’s 12th-place result in their first attempts at the speedway, one of the series’ most difficult to master.
