4: The number of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Talladega Superspeedway that have been won from starting positions outside the top 25. Though conventional wisdom says it doesn’t matter where you start on a restrictor-plate track, the statistics suggest otherwise. In other words, if you have a car strong enough to win the race, you have a car strong enough to qualify well. There have been 87 Cup races at Talladega; the last driver to win from outside the top 25 on the grid was Tony Stewart, who started 34th in the fall race of 2008.
