Allen impressed with Stewart's acting skills

When it came right down to it, Tim Allen was more impressed with Tony Stewart's acting skills than Stewart was with Allen's impersonation of a race-car driver. But it was all in good fun, which NASCAR fans can judge for themselves at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday when Stewart, the defending Sprint Cup champion, appears on the ABC situation comedy Last Man Standing, starring veteran actor Allen. The episode of the show actually was taped Jan. 16-17 in Los Angeles.
WWE's Cena to be Daytona 500's honorary starter

WWE Superstar John Cena will wave the green flag as honorary starter of the 54th annual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26, at historic Daytona International Speedway. Cena was invited to participate in this year's big race by 2011 Sprint Cup Series runner-up Carl Edwards on WWE's Monday Night Raw. Edwards got out of his official No. 99 Fastenal Ford and told Cena, "NASCAR asked me to come to Monday Night Raw and personally invite you to drop the green flag and officially start the Daytona 500 on February 26." An appreciative Cena enthusiastically accepted with an emphatic "Yes!"
Shelton to perform free concert at All-Star Race

Blake Shelton, CMA's reigning male vocalist of the year, will perform a pre-race concert for the 2012 Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The concert will take place in the infield between Turns 1 and 2. Admission to the show is free with the purchase of a ticket to the Sprint All-Star Race. Fans can purchase a special Golden Ticket upgrade for just $20 to secure a prime location with special access to a reserved area directly in front of the stage. Charlotte Motor Speedway season ticket holders will have first opportunity to purchase the upgrade before it opens to the public at noon ET on Jan. 25. Approximately 2,000 Golden Tickets are available and can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
Harvick, Biffle to appear in 'Dog Whisperer'

In a sport where drivers are constantly striving to be leaders of the pack, Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, and one lucky NASCAR fan are taking a back seat to learn a thing or two about how to control their pets. "Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan", airing on Nat Geo WILD, is going all-NASCAR when they bring the show to Daytona Beach, Fla., in February to shoot an upcoming episode.
Edwards to co-host 'LIVE! with Kelly' Jan. 10

Carl Edwards will take a turn co-hosting the syndicated morning program "LIVE! with Kelly" on Tuesday, Jan. 10, during a special themed week of sports co-hosts with Kelly Ripa. Edwards was selected along with Reggie Bush, Boomer Esiason, Jesse Palmer and Apolo Anton Ohno. Actress Kate Beckinsale will be a guest on the show when Edwards co-hosts with Ripa.
Busch to present award at American Country Awards

Kyle Busch will present the award for Female Artist of the Year at the second annual American Country Awards on Monday. The show will air live on FOX from 8-10 p.m. ET. The five nominees for Female Artist of the Year are Sara Evans, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.
Vickers to guest star on 'Hart of Dixie' on Monday

Sprint Cup Series driver Brian Vickers will appear as himself on Hart of Dixie Monday night at 9 p.m. ET, alongside stars Jaime King, Rachel Bilson and Scott Porter. In the episode, Vickers makes his appearance when he has to drop out of hosting Bluebell Junior League's annual turtle race, and feels the wrath of Lemon Breeland, played by King.
Activision introduces 'NASCAR Unleashed' game

Activision Publishing, Inc. announced on Thursday that NASCAR Unleashed will be available in the fall on Xbox 360, PlayStation3, Wii and the Nintendo 3DS. NASCAR Unleashed is the newest entry in the NASCAR branded racing series and will allow players to take their racer to the streets by driving on and off some of NASCAR's most famous tracks.
'Necessary Roughness' explores world of NASCAR

USA Network's series 'Necessary Roughness' hits the track to explore the world of NASCAR during this week's episode on July 13 at 10 p.m. ET. The episode features Dr. Dani (Callie Thorne) treating a NASCAR driver (Matt Barr) who can't get back behind the wheel after a crash. Scenes were shot at Atlanta Motor Speedway and feature two fictional racing teams as well as race cars from real NASCAR teams.
Cup drivers to appear on episode of 'The Glades'

Carl Edwards, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart and Brian Vickers will play themselves in an episode of 'The Glades' on June 26 at 10 p.m. ET on A&E. The episode explores the murder investigation of Cole Hunter, the fictitious mechanic for NASCAR driver Trey Lancer. In his search for the truth, Jim Longworth -- played by Matt Passmore -- centers much of his attention around the NASCAR garage, where he meets Edwards, Logano, Stewart and Vickers.
Bowyer, Dillon to appear on 'Price is Right'

Clint Bowyer and Austin Dillon speed into The Price is Right for a special NASCAR-themed episode on Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. ET on CBS. Bowyer and Dillon will present two NASCAR-themed showcases, featuring a trip to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, a trip to Miami to see the season-ending races in all three of NASCAR's national series and a Chevy Impala LS.
