The No. 2 KHI team had a great run at Bristol this past weekend. I'm really excited that we have some momentum heading into Auto Club Speedway this weekend.
While the racing season is just gearing up, college basketball is winding down. March madness has begun! I love basketball. What some of you may not know is that I went to James Madison University with the intention to play college basketball but a knee injury during my freshman year before the season started halted my basketball career.
I still play a pick up game here and there, and I love watching my favorite team, the North Carolina Tar Heels, play. DeLana [Harvick] and I share a passion for the Heels, so we are always happy when they win. I'm not sure how the tournament will turn out. The Duke Blue Devils seem to be playing really well, but I sure hope the Tar Heels are able to win it all.
No matter how well my Tar Heels do in the tournament, the one thing I do know is I am the undisputed three-time Bristol Motor Speedway Wii boxing champion! Last weekend at Food City Race Night, I was able to defend my boxing title by beating David Reutimann in the final seconds. I have said it many times but Bristol really puts on a great event for the drivers and the fans. I think everyone had a wonderful time and I hope they let me defend my title next year. I have a feeling though they are going to make me do something else, maybe Wii golf or karaoke?
I was really proud of our team last week for overcoming so much adversity. It really proves to me that we are a championship contending team. We knew we had the ability to run that competitively all along. We just needed some racing luck to go our way.
The momentum we gained really has me looking forward to Fontana. I won my last Sprint Cup Series race at the two-mile track. The track is really fast and it has aged to create four-wide racing, which is always exciting for the fans.
It's a pretty short week for us as we head out to the West coast, so I'm going to go get some things done around the house. Until next time, HOLLA!
