Bobcats Sports & Entertainment president and COO Fred Whitfield announced the lineup of activities and giveaways for the team's fifth annual NASCAR Night on Wednesday at Time Warner Cable Arena. Highlighting the Bobcats game that evening against Tyler Hansbrough and the Indiana Pacers will be appearances by drivers in all three national series as well as the sports developmental series, show cars on the arena concourse, and NASCAR Night car flags to the first 5,000 fans through the doors. Edwin McCain, a Greenville, S.C., native, will perform the national anthem, and the Bobcats will once again wear specially-designed NASCAR uniforms with checkerboard vents on the side of the jerseys and shorts.

"Tradition is important to people here in the Carolinas, and NASCAR Night celebrates two sports that have tremendous roots and history in this community," Whitfield said. "We're race fans too, and our great relationship with NASCAR is another example how we're committed to building a connection with this community on every level."

The night will begin with a fan meet-and-greet with Sprint Cup Series driver David Ragan. Concourse displays will include the NASCAR Foundation, the NASCAR Racing Experience, the NASCAR Speedpark, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge, and Fetha Styx Officially Licensed Fishing Rods featuring appearances by professional bass anglers Bink Desaro and Andy Montgomery, plus NASCAR driver autograph sessions with the Nationwide Series, the K&N Pro Series, and Drive 4 Diversity drivers.

Fans in attendance will also have the chance to win a $500 gift certificate from the NASCAR.COM Superstore, tickets to the upcoming K&N Pro Series race events, free go cart rides from the NASCAR Speedpark, and one section will receive $50 gift certificates good toward the purchase of NASCAR Racing Experience driving package. Halftime will feature a pit stop challenge contest and SPEED reporter John Roberts reviewing the NASCAR season to-date.

"This night provides a tremendous opportunity for sports fans in the region to share their love of the Bobcats and NASCAR," said Blake Davidson, NASCAR vice president of licensing and consumer products. "As always this night connects our fans and our sports at a great time to celebrate the strong start to the NASCAR season and the Bobcats' playoff drive."

Tickets start at just $10 and are available by phone at (704) BOBCATS, Time Warner Cable Arena, or at bobcats.com with a discount and donation to Victory Junction Gang Camp.
