1950: Making his third Cup start, Fireball Roberts wins a 100-lap race at Occoneechee Speedway in Hillsborough, N.C. Curtis Turner leads the first 45 laps on the 1-mile dirt track and Pee Wee Martin the next 12 before Roberts takes the lead for good on Lap 58. Turner finishes second, and Dick Linder is third. Martin finishes 12th. Roberts' 33 Cup wins (in 206 starts) rank 20th all time. His 16.0 winning percentage ranks sixth all time.
