Busch's No. 22 Dodge has no tech issues at Dover

DOVER, Del. -- More than two hours before the scheduled start of Sunday's AAA 400, Kurt Busch's No. 22 Dodge was already sitting on pit road, having made its way through NASCAR's pre-race technical inspection process without a hitch.

"Everything went smooth," crew chief Steve Addington said after the driver's meeting. "We didn't have any issues at all. Last week was a small, minor track bar adjustment that we had to make and that was the only issue we had."

A week ago at New Hampshire, the car was held off the grid by NASCAR officials until about 10 minutes before engines were started. According to team owner Roger Penske, NASCAR president Mike Helton and Cup Series director John Darby were upset that the team had been consistently late going through inspection, and to compound matters, had additional problems that kept officials from completing other pre-race tasks.

That wasn't the case at Dover International Speedway. The No. 22 cruised through NASCAR's final inspection station at 11:16 a.m. ET, well ahead of most of the other Chase contenders and 20th overall. Almost an hour later, the final three cars in line -- those of Matt Kenseth, Penske teammate Brad Keselowski and Paul Menard -- were cleared to race.

A.J. Allmendinger's No. 43 Ford was up on jackstands for quite some time as the team switched out wheel studs and spacers. Once the work was completed, the car was rolled to its seventh-place starting position.
