I don't understand all the fuss over the Car of the Future. Either teams get with the program or they are out.

I remember in 1969 when NASCAR had another car design challenge with the Dodge Daytona, Plymouth Superbirds, Ford Tornio Tallageda, and Mercury Cyclone.

These cars were build more to challenge one car maker over another. The entire field were not required to build and race one of these type cars, only those team who could afford one of these cars build a car. So out of 40 cars in a field, you may have 12 of these cars. Many independent teams only had a couple of car period, one for Short tracks and one for superspeedways. Many could not afford to build and maintain theses new airdymically superior cars.

I think NASCAR is trying to develop a even playing field for all the different car makes that want to race in NASCAR.

Lets face it, American made cars are airodynically challeged and would be at a disadvanage to foreign cars.

So I feel NASCAR is doing a smart thing by making all comers, new and old, if they want to race in Nextel Cup you must play by the rules, build your Car of the Future or not race.

Wheeler vs Petty

Kyle is right!!!
Tracks and their owners keep increasing ticket prices. They want the corporate sponsors to pay for it when it was the FANS who put NASCAR where it is today. I would rather watch a race on TV them pay high prices and have to wait in line to pee and pay $7 for a beer and a sandwich.
NASCAR needs to look at who put them where they are and see it quickly or they will continue to loose people in the stands.
