Pied Piper Harvick

2:48 PM
I really bet it's a role Kevin Harvick would rather not play, but I had to laugh when I walked through the gate into the Nextel Cup garage closest to the media center, and saw Harvick hustling, with the purposeful stride he usually carries, through the garage getting from one point to another and obviously in a hurry.

At least one autograph seeker was alongside, but Harvick was leaving a trail of disappointed would-be customers in his wake -- as he signed for anyone who could keep up.

All I could think of was the "You da man!" cries you hear after drives on golf tee boxes, as a sidelines onlooker to the sight cried out "You gotta be quick!"

NASCAR Thinks Their Too Good

It is a real shame when a sport mainly suported by the middle class for so many years grows to the point that they DON'T care about them anymore.
Middle class people can no longer afford to attend a nascar event! When you try to watch a race on tv you can watch a 4 hour race in 1.5 hours once you take out all the commercials. Its sad to see them go that way. I miss watching the races not the commercials!!

I dislike Kevin Harvick and now I dislike him even more. He couldn't take a second and sign a few autographs? Kasey Kahne always signs autographs no matter what! Kevin Harvick is not the most upstanding driver and that situation proves it!

I would like to know if Harvick's wife is an AMERICIAN?? In the U.S.A. PEOPLE remove their HATS for the NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Who cares about Kasey Kahne? He ain't running up front, so of course he has time to sign autographs. Perhaps if he was a contender, he might not have time to. Sorry Lauren, but this is racin, not a popularity contest.

I don't understand people who want someone to scribble their name on a piece of paper...get a life.

Well, Steve the last i checked, Kasey has won 6 races this year, Umm who else has won that many this year? He may not have the best luck with things breaking, but its not because he isnt running upfront.

I don't think its fair to dislike a driver for not signing a few autographs, do you realize that they are there to work? This is their job, and yes they are there for the fans too, there is a time and place for autographs. They schedule appearences all the time for fans. I'm not saying they shouldn't sign for fans at the track, but when they are trying to get from point A to point B or thinking about the race, they don't always need people in their faces looking for stuff. Would you want that constant distraction at your job? Which I doubt is as dangerous as thiers.. give them a break....

Well Steve from Colorado obviously not a Kasey Kahne fan, however Lauren you were right on the money when you pointed out the difference between drivers who respect their fans enough to sign an autograph and those who don't!

Two cheers for Steve letting Lauren know what's going on.I met Harvick in Richmond & he was super nice & took the time to sign my car. There is a place & time to get him to sign things.Harvick is #1 in my book.

While men should remove their hats for the anthem, it is quite proper for women to leave them on during the same. Harvick's wife was doing nothing wrong.
