Those inspection blues

3:20 PM
Jeremy Mayfield cried the blues earlier this week when he talked about the detriment of being low in the Nextel Cup owners' points -- and the effect it had on teams trying to get through the line in order to practice.

It came into reality Friday morning at Homestead. As the 56-car field began to line up for practice, the cars of Carl Long, Scott Wimmer and Morgan Shepherd -- who only entered the race Friday morning -- were still in the inspection queue.

After 15 minutes of practice, they had not yet hit the track. Shepherd was the last of the group to make it out, some 45 minutes into the session -- and by the time it was over the impact was obvious. He was last on the sheet, more than two-and-a-half seconds off fast man Kurt Busch.

Wait, Jeremy Mayfield whined about something? I'm shocked! Truly shocked! Gee, I wonder how he got himself to the back of that line in the first place ... hmmm ... Next thing you'll report is equally shocking news that Shana stood behind him and whined about the same thing! I can't wait until their column is gone next year and we can quit hearing them, weekly, air their personal insults of Ray Evernham. Granted, his recent performances certainly show he doesn't have much else to talk about. Nice job in the #15 truck (Kyle Busch seems a bit more successful there) ... I'll be glued to the set watching you race the Micosukee car from the 32nd position. Better than last week when he was glued to the set watching the race.

Somebody is going to be last. Quit with the WHINING! On another note, who cares, what anybody thinks the open-wheelers are maybe going to do? Just let them get out there and show us. We don't need all the jabber-jaw about it.

Evernham ruined Casey Atwood's career. He tried to ruin Mayfield's career. Evernham is an old, used up man with an eye for young women and that is all he is. Sadler is just as bad. He quit Yates and ran. Mears is the man of the day--he stayed and did his best. Jeremy will be great next year and Evernham will still be ruining careers and chasing young girls.
