Crown Royal relief program to aid victims

Chopper motorcycle to be auctioned off starting Sept. 19

September 8, 2005
10:41 PM EDT (02:41 GMT)

To help aid relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina victims in the Gulf Coast area, Crown Royal and Diageo will be auctioning off a one-of-a-kind 2004 Chip Collins Custom Crown Royal Chopper motorcycle, including a helmet signed by the last two NASCAR Nextel Cup champions - Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch.

The auction will be open from 9/19 - 9/29 on eBay, with proceeds going towards Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Bidding begins on September 19 at 12am.

Collins is an up-and-coming bike builder, and he created this Crown Royal-themed motorcycle from scratch in 2004 to help express his affinity for the spirit brand. Now he wants his art to go towards a worthy cause.

The bike has been on display all season long at the Crown Royal Fan Experiential tent that travels to most racetracks during the 2005 NASCAR season. It has already won numerous awards, including Easy Riders Best of Show (Houston 2004), and V-twin 2nd place at the Easy Riders Invitational (Atlanta 2004).
