As a company that prides itself on professionalism and excellence, Waste Management salutes NASCAR® for its commitment to remain at the forefront of racing. And with over 50,000 employees - the majority of whom are drivers and mechanics - we're obviously huge fans, too. That said, it's no wonder Waste Management became a proud sponsor of NASCAR® back in 2001. Now, we're excited to take our partnership with NASCAR® to the next level and announce the formation of Team Waste Management Racing.

Team Waste Management Racing
As the exclusive NASCAR® sponsor in the waste services industry, Waste Management is taking our rightful place behind the wheel. And there's no better place to start than with reigning NASCAR® Nextel Cup Series Champion, and two-time Waste Management Picking Up Places award winner, Matt Kenseth. Matt's professionalism, strong character and drive to succeed exemplify the qualities we value at Waste Management, making this the perfect partnership.
Waste Management will be Matt's primary sponsor for 15 races in the NASCAR® Busch Series -- the 2004 race in Phoenix and 14 races in 2005 -- driving the No. 17 Waste Management Ford Taurus. Waste Management will also be an associate sponsor of his NASCAR® NEXTEL Cup Series car for the entire 2005 season.

Blazing a new trail in the sport - Driven to Diversify
As NASCAR® embarks on the single-most-important initiative in their history - the effort to promote diversity on and off the track - Waste Management is proud to help support and sponsor this important commitment.
In an effort to bring opportunity to everyone in the community, Waste Management is happy to be a leading sponsor of Bill Lester's No. 22 truck in the NASCAR® Craftsman Truck Series.
As a primary sponsor of Bill's NASCAR® Craftsman Truck Series truck for five races total, Bill will be driving the No. 22 Waste Management Toyota Tundra. Waste Management will also be an associate sponsor for the rest of the 2004 season and all of 2005.
Waste Management will also support diversity in NASCAR® by sponsoring a minority-owned team with a minority driver in the NASCAR® Dodge Weekly Racing Series. Giving people with drive the opportunity to succeed parallels Waste Management's own diversity goals, and we're excited to be part of this dynamic and worthwhile effort.

As a top team on the NASCAR® circuit, Waste Management is proud to once again be the title sponsor for the Waste Management Picking Up Places award. This prestigious award, given out after every NASCAR® Nextel Cup Series race, goes to the eligible car that moves up the furthest in the standings - from final qualifying position to their official place at the race's finish. The car that picks up the most "places" wins and is awarded $5,000 before the following race. As an added bonus, the car with the most Waste Management Picking Up Places awards at the end of the season will also be presented an additional $75,000 bonus.
Last year, Matt Kenseth took home the top spot. Who will it be this year? Stay tuned and follow your favorites.
