Carl Edwards promised his crew he wouldn't let them down like he did last year, and he held followed through.

After being forced to miss last season's June race in Nashville when rain interfered with his plans to run both the Busch race there and the Cup race in Pocono, Edwards returned this year with one mission. And nobody could stop him.

Edwards led 124 laps, including the final 38, to win the Federated Auto Parts 300 Saturday night.

He lost the lead on different occasions in the pits, but each time his No. 60 Ford was capable of running down the leader and taking command of the race. He passed Clint Bowyer with 38 laps to go for the final time and ran away from the field.

Bowyer finished second. Points leader Kevin Harvick was third, followed by Denny Hamlin as Cup guys who are pulling double duty this weekend with the Pocono race on Sunday took the top four positions.

Paul Menard was fifth, giving Busch regulars just their fifth top-five finish of the season.  More
