Kevin Harvick finally broke through in the Craftsman Truck Series, winning the Chevy Silverado 150. Harvick beat Ted Musgrave after scoring five career runner-up finishes in the Truck Series.

It appeared Harvick was on his way to an easy victory after moving to the front on lap 76 of the 152-lap event. He stayed out front but, with fewer than 20 laps to go, Musgrave's Dodge suddenly moved up to Harvick's rear bumper and began to dog the leader's Chevrolet.

Harvick pulled away a few car-lengths again with two laps to go on the 1-mile oval, but a three-car accident involving Ryan Hemphill, Jason Leffler and Jon Wood brought out the third caution flag.

Harvick got a good restart and kept Musgrave at bay until the final turn, when the challenger bumped Harvick, moved to the inside of the leader and shot forward, coming up 0.022 seconds and about three feet short. The winner averaged 108.014 mph. More
