1982: Tim Richmond passes Slick Johnson on the last lap to win a 75-mile consolation race for Daytona 500 non-qualifiers. Johnson held on for second with former rookie of the year Ronnie Thomas in third. Richmond went on to win two points-paying races that year, both at Riverside, Calif.
