MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- Jeff Gordon won the Virginia 500 in a brilliant battle with Bobby Labonte and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Labonte was second, and Earnhardt Jr. was third. Jeff Burton finished fourth for his top run of the year. Elliott Sadler finished fifth.

Gordon led 190 laps, and Earnhardt Jr. led 195 laps. Only 12 cars finished on the lead lap.

Gordon now has four career wins at Martinsville. More
