The number of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts it took Jimmie Johnson to score his first victory. Johnson started three races in 2001 before going full time with Hendrick Motorsports in 2002. He won his 10th start of that season, 13th overall, at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., about two hours’ drive from his childhood home in El Cajon.
