1999: Rusty Wallace wins the Food City 500 at Bristol from the pole, leading 425 of the 500 laps. It is the most laps Wallace leads in a Cup race in his 706 starts during 25 seasons. Wallace is at the point for the first 197 laps and the final 149 and beats Mark Martin to the checkered flag by .223 seconds. Dale Jarrett is third.
