1957: Curtis Turner wins a 150-lap race on the fourth-tenths mile Hickory (N.C.) Speedway dirt for his 25th victory in NASCAR's Convertible Series. Joe Weatherly and Jack Smith finish second and third, a lap down. Turner will go on to win a record 38 races in the four years of the Convertible Series.
