1969: On the day, man lands -- and walks -- on the moon, 32 drivers star the Volunteer 500 at Bristol and 10 are running at the finish. David Pearson leads 316 laps and wins by three laps over Bobby Isaac and 13 over third-place Donnie Allison. Roy Tyner, the last of the 10 cars still running, finishes 10th, 97 laps behind Pearson.
