1997: Chuck Bown, the 1990 Nationwide Series champion, gets his best finish in the Camping World Truck Series, finishing second to Joe Ruttman in the GM Goodwrench/AC Delco 300 at Phoenix. Jack Sprague finishes third. Bown starts 35 Truck races in 1997 and 1998, finishing ninth in points while starting all 26 races in 1997. Bown had 11 wins in 187 starts in the Nationwide Series. He was winless in 73 starts in the Cup Series over 16 seasons (1972 to 1996).
