1969: Neil "Soapy" Castles uses a last-lap pass on teammate Dub Simpson to win a qualifying race for the Carolina 500 at North Carolina Motor Speedway in Rockingham, N.C. Simpson holds on for second place with pole-starter Bill Seifert third. The next day, Castles finishes 31st in the main event, won by David Pearson.
