1958: Bob Welborn starts from the pole and rolls to victory in the Convertible Series at Asheville-Weaverville (N.C.) Speedway. Banjo Matthews starts and finishes second, and Frankie Schneider does the same in third. Welborn's second win in a row was one of eight that season, helping him clinch the series championship.
