1955: Junior Johnson bypasses Tim Flock near the midway point at Fonda (N.Y.) Speedway to score his fourth victory in NASCAR's premier series. Johnson took the top spot on Lap 96 and led the rest of the 200-lap feature. Flock, the pole-sitter, held on for second place, one lap down. Lee Petty started and finished third in the series' debut at the 0.5-mile dirt track, which still plays host to weekly racing events.
