1951: Frank Mundy notches a rare NASCAR win for Studebaker, closing out the season with a victory at New Mobile (Ala.) Speedway's 0.75-mile dirt track. Mundy, an occasional competitor in NASCAR's early days, collected $1,000 for the last of his three career wins in NASCAR's top series. Tim Flock finished second in a Hudson, with Red Duvall third in a Packard.
