Ryan Truex cleared to race at Bristol
August 21, 2014, Staff report, NASCAR.com
He is expected to be back in the car this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, site of Saturday night's Irwin Tools Night Race.
Truex, 22, crashed during practice last week at Michigan International Speedway and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. He was withheld from Sunday's Pure Michigan 400, with driver J.J. Yeley handing the driving duties for the No. 83 team.
Truex, younger brother of Sprint Cup driver Martin Truex Jr., is 37th in points. He is one of seven drivers competing for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year title in the Sprint Cup Series. He made his Sprint Cup debut in the Bristol night race last year.
Happy to be back to it this weekend 👍 Concussions are definitely nothing to mess with, thanks to everyone @NASCAR for helping me thru it.— Ryan Truex (@Ryan_Truex) August 21, 2014
