Power Rankings: Phoenix/Auto Club

1 Kyle Larson
+1 1/12 39th

Another week, another runner-up finish for Larson -- but this time, the points lead comes along with it. The talented young gun should keep it rolling at Auto Club, where he won the XFINITY race in 2014, then finished runner-up the following day as a rookie in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

2 Brad Keselowski
-1 1/8 13th

Keselowski has an interesting history at Auto Club -- he won the race in 2015, but it was his first top-10 finish at the track. He did add another one last year, however, finishing ninth.

3 Martin Truex Jr
---- 3/9 1st

Truex Jr. is typically consistently good at every track, but that doesn't quite hold true at Auto Club. The Furniture Row Racing driver averages a finish of 20.1 and has just two top 10s since 2008.

4 Chase Elliott
---- 4/9 4th

There's little reason to believe Elliott won't be fighting for a win again this weekend, as his only start at Fontana in 2016 saw him start eighth, finish sixth and lead a lap for good measure.

5 Kevin Harvick
+1 1/6 8th

Harvick has worn his Kyle Larson costume at Auto Club Speedway the past two years. That is to say -- he finished runner-up in 2015 and '16.

6 Joey Logano
-1 1/5 21st

Logano has some pretty memorable moments at Auto Club (see: feuds with Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart). He'd certainly like to add some more positive memories to the track.

7 Kyle Busch
+6 3/13 10th

The two Kyles are the race favorites this weekend, with Busch being the results-based moneymaker. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver won the race in 2013 and '14 after a streak of six of eight wins in the XFINITY Series at Auto Club.

8 Kurt Busch
-1 2/10 2nd

Your Daytona 500 winner could have another solid weekend in store for him at Auto Club, where he has a series-leading four Coors Light Pole Awards. That said, he has just one since 2007.

9 Ryan Blaney
-1 8/19 3rd

Blaney continues to have speed, but it'll be interesting to see how he performs at Auto Club. He crashed out of last year's race in his only Monster Energy Series start at the track.

10 Denny Hamlin
-1 5/10 5th

Hamlin has quite the roller coaster history at Auto Club -- he has three career poles and finished third last year ... and also once fractured his back on a last-lap crash and has yet to find Victory Lane.

11 Jimmie Johnson
---- 2/11 11th

Despite not quite having that "Hendrick horsepower" we've grown accustomed to, no driver may have Auto Club down quite like Johnson has and he should still be a threat on Sunday. The defending winner of the race has led a series-high 980 laps, holds a series-best 6.5 average finish and has five wins since 2007.

12 Kasey Kahne
-2 10/15 15th

Kahne hasn't won at Auto Club in more than a decade and has three straight finishes outside the top 10. If there was ever a week to challenge the early season success he's found, this is it.

13 Jamie McMurray
+1 13/16 34th

McMurray ran near the front yet again and has a good shot to at Auto Club, as well. The Chip Ganassi Racing driver has just seven top 10s at the track, but two of them came in the past three races when his car's performance wasn't typically exceptional.

14 Matt Kenseth
-2 7/14 37th

Kenseth (along with Dale Earnhardt Jr.) has the most experience at Auto Club, and it could be a good rebound weekend for him. His three wins and 15 top-10 finishes at the track are second only to Fontana master Jimmie Johnson.

15 Ryan Newman
+9 15/24 33rd

Newman may have been a surprise winner at Phoenix, but his stats at the track could've predicted a solid performance there. Never a winner at Auto Club, it may be hard to see back-to-back weeks of Newman racing for the win.

16 Clint Bowyer
---- 15/17 19th

Bowyer hasn't finished in the top 10 at Auto Club since ripping off four straight from 2009-11. With newfound speed in a new car, he could wind up in the top 10 once again.

17 Erik Jones
+1 17/22 35th

The rookie Jones, obviously, is untested in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Auto Club, but he should have a good shot to at least start the race near the front. In the XFINITY Series, his average start at Fontana is 1.5.

18 Trevor Bayne
-1 16/20 20th

Bayne has never come close to a top 10 at Auto Club, but he did start seventh last year. Perhaps a good start plus his increased '17 performance can result in his best career finish.

19 Dale Earnhardt Jr
-2 11/19 7th

For a bigger track, Junior isn't exceptional at Auto Club. Despite having the most career starts of anyone in the series there, he has no wins and just seven top-10 finishes.

20 Daniel Suarez
---- 14/20 36th

Suarez knocked off his first career top-10 at Phoenix on Sunday and has a shot to make it two in a row at Auto Club, where he's the defending pole winner in the XFINITY Series.
