Though waking up in sunny Daytona Beach, snoozing on a plane ride north and re-awakening in the frozen tundra that is currently New England isn’t necessarily an ideal scenario for a Tuesday morning, believe it or not, it's actually one of the perks of being the driver who rode the famed No. 3 Chevrolet to the Coors Light Pole Award for the season-opening Daytona 500.

It meant that Austin Dillon earned himself a trip to Bristol, Conn., to be a featured guest on ESPN's SportsCenter.

Dillon turned the fastest lap during qualifying on Sunday -- and later that day won a race of a different kind -- meaning all eyes will be on his car when the green flag comes to pass this coming Sunday for the start of the Great American Race (1 p.m. ET, FOX). First, though, fans' eyes focused on Dillon as he made his appearance on the tube.

He even tweeted a photo hanging somewhere in the Bristol offices of three-time Daytona 500 winner Jeff Gordon, who's no stranger to making ESPN appearances.

After his SportsCenter hit, Dillon did a SportsNation chat with fans that can be viewed here. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie touched on plenty, but highlights include how some of the veteran racers treat him and what it would mean to win the Daytona 500 in a car that uses the same number NASCAR Hall-of-Famer Dale Earnhardt made famous. He also broke off a few minutes of his busy morning to take a few questions via the Daytona International Speedway Twitter account.

In case you missed Dillon on his two morning hits, be sure to catch him later on Tuesday during the following times:

1:25 - 1:40 p.m. ET     SportsCenter on ESPN

6 p.m. ET                    SportsCenter on ESPN
3 a.m. ET                    NASCAR Now on ESPN2
