Big meets big when Mark Eaton, Talladega are introduced

In a true meeting of gargantuans, the mighty 7-foot 4-inch former two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Mark Eaton visited Talladega Superspeedway on Thursday.

Eaton, who holds the NBA career average for blocked shots per game (3.50) over his 11-year career with the Utah Jazz, was amazed at the mammoth size of one of NASCAR’s most famous venues.

The former center was on hand serving as a motivational speaker for a group at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, located outside Turn 4 at Talladega, according to a release from the track. His motto, "Stand Tall. Play Big.," rings especially true at the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway, where four-wide racing at NASCAR's biggest and most competitive track amongst the greatest drivers in the world is common.
