A Florida racing legend, Dave Rodgers has made his home in New Smyrna's Victory Lane. He won the now Super Late Model division titles at New Smyrna in three different decades (1987, 1999 and 2009).

Rodgers won the 1994 NASCAR weekly series national championship. He also has multiple wins in nearly every major extra-distance race at New Smyrna, including the Florida's Governor's Cup. The Super Late Model division is now named after Rogers, who passed away last year.
