About Legacy Motor Club

Legacy Motor Club began racing in 2000 under a different name, Evernham Motorsports. Over the years the team has changed names a few times, ultimately being named after 'The King' from 2009-2021. Starting in 2022, the organization merged with GMS Racing, LLC., becoming Petty GMS Motorsports. In 2023, Jimmie Johnson was named as a co-owner and the team was rebranded once again to Legacy Motor Club. For 2024, their driver lineup will have Erik Jones (No. 43) and John Hunter Nemechek (No. 42), and Jimmie Johnson (No. 84) running select races. As an organization, they have earned 20 victories in the Cup Series. Other notable drivers that have raced for the team include Bill Elliott, Kasey Kahne, Marcos Ambrose, Jeremy Mayfield, Elliott Sadler, AJ Allmendinger, Aric Almirola, Bubba Wallace, Erik Jones, Ty Dillon, & Noah Gragson.
