The Supermarket Heroes 500 marks the 119th Cup race hosted by Bristol Motor Speedway in the series’ history. Sunday’s Supermarket Heroes 500 will be the first race of the season season at “The Last Great Colosseum”. The .5-mile oval located in Bristol, Tennessee has a concrete racing surface with 26-30 degrees of banking in the turns and 6-10 degrees of banking on the straightaways. Hall of Fame nominee, Carl Edwards received his infamous nickname of “Concrete Carl” with his success at this track. The track first opened in 1960, the Cup Series held its inaugural race in 61′ and Jack Smith won.
