NEXT GEN CALIFORNIA FAQs

WHY IS AUTOCLUBSPEEDWAY.COM REDIRECTING TO A PAGE ON NASCAR.COM?

Auto Club has been a tremendous, longtime partner with our Fontana facility. Their naming rights agreement expired on March 15, 2023, but we look forward to engaging with them on the proposed Next Gen NASCAR short track.

WE HEARD A RUMOR THAT THE SHORT TRACK WILL NEVER HAPPEN. IS THAT TRUE?

Planning continues for a Next Gen NASCAR short track on a portion of the current property NASCAR retained. Pending approvals, more details on this project will be revealed at the appropriate time

WHEN WILL CONSTRUCTION BEGIN ON THE NEW SHORT TRACK?

That is still to be determined. We have multiple approvals that need to take place before pressing forward with our state-of-the-art next-generation NASCAR facility.

WILL THE NEW TRACK BE READY IN TIME FOR THE 2024 SEASON, IF APPROVED?

Unfortunately, it won’t. Even with the most aggressive construction timeline, the proposed track won’t be ready for the 2024 season.

IF IT WON’T BE READY FOR 2024, WHEN WILL THE NEW FACILITY BE READY FOR RACING?

Again, it all boils down to final approval, but we anticipate needing at least an 18-month window to complete the project.

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE FOR THE FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENTS ABOUT THE PROJECT?

NASCAR will share any future announcements at an appropriate time. We encourage fans to click here to sign up for the latest updates.
