Kyle Larson tops wind-filled practice at Las Vegas

RELATED: Full practice results Kyle Larson topped the leaderboard in Friday's first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 190.658 mph in the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet. Right behind him was last week's Atlanta winner in Kevin Harvick, who posted a best speed of 190.409 mph  in the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford. Rounding out the top five were Paul Menard in the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford (190.369 mph), Kyle Busch in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota (190.342 mph) and William Byron in the No. 24 Chevrolet (190.282 mph). Drivers faced heavy winds during this practice, with speeds in the Las Vegas area hovering around 23 mph according to weather.com.
