No. 1 Monster Energy Series team cited for lug-nut violation

The No. 1 Chip Ganassi Racing team has been penalized for a safety violation following Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course.
Per Sections 10.9.10.4, the No. 1 Chevrolet was found to have lug nut(s) not safe and secure in post-race inspection. Crew chief Matt McCall has been fined $10,000.
Jamie McMurray piloted the No. 1 Chevrolet to a runner-up finish in the first event at the Charlotte road course.
