Bubba Wallace bolsters Chase bid, claims second at New Hampshire

Bubba Wallace came home second to close friend Ryan Blaney in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race, strengthening his bid for a spot in The Chase postseason but just missing out on his first win of the year. RELATED: Unofficial results | At-track photos: NHMS Wallace's No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota finished 0.586 seconds behind Blaney's No. 12 Team Penske Ford at the end of Sunday's Dollar Tree 301. He made gains on Blaney in traffic down the home stretch, but a lock-up with five laps left hurt his hopes. Wallace matched his best result this season -- a second-place day in the inaugural San Diego event at Naval Base Coronado in June. This story will be updated.
