Layne Riggs made up for his tumultuous start to the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chase presented by Mobil 1, passing Kaden Honeycutt with seven laps to go to win his seventh race of the season Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Riggs led 47 laps and won Stage 1, completing a sweep of the series' races at the 1.5-mile oval this year in Concord, North Carolina. With the victory, Riggs unofficially trims 20 points off his points deficit to Honeycutt, now sitting just 17 markers back with four postseason races remaining. Bayley Currey and Chandler Smith completed the top five. Daniel Hemric, Landen Lewis, Andrés Pérez, Tyler Ankrum and Justin Haley completed the top 10. Ty Majeski finished 11th, Grant Enfinger 12th, Ben Rhodes 21st and Gio Ruggiero 25th to round out The Chase drivers. On a restart with 17 laps to go, Rajah Caruth – driving the No. 77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports – slowed down on the backstretch, triggering a multitruck crash as Leland Honeyman Jr. was turned into the outside wall. Ruggiero suffered damage to his No. 17 Tricon Garage Toyota, taking a hit in points after entering Charlotte fourth. Polesitter Connor Mosack was also involved, with his No. 7 Chevrolet engulfing in flames just before pit entrance. The Truck Series Chase continues next Friday at Phoenix Raceway (7:30 p.m. ET, FS1, FOX One, NASCAR Racing Network Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). This story will be updated.
