Craftsman Truck Series title contender Layne Riggs had a tire go down in the opening moments of Friday's championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Riggs entered the season finale 20 points behind championship leader Kaden Honeycutt -- the two are the only remaining eligible drivers to hoist the trophy at night's end.

Riggs, driver of the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford, started the 200-mile race in fourth and faded back to eighth on the opening stint, at one point nearly spinning down the backstretch on the second lap.
At Lap 15, Riggs' right-rear tire went down, forcing an unexpected trip down pit road. He fell two laps down and ended Stage 1 in 34th as Honeycutt placed third in the opening frame, with the No. 11 Tricon Garage Toyota inching closer to the title.
