Minute Maid(R) Premium Light Limbos Its Way to Half the Calories and Sugar of Orange Juice

HOUSTON, Jul 6, 2004 /PRNewswire via AP/

Minute Maid Premium Light features its "light" appeal in a new advertising spot called "Limbo," which began airing July 5. The 15-second spot showcases a Minute Maid Premium Light orange juice carton demonstrating how low it can go. Minute Maid Premium Light masters the limbo stick because it has half the calories and sugar of orange juice.

The commercial, created by Detroit-based Doner Advertising, is launching on national networks and cable programming.

"This advertisement showcases the greatest asset of Minute Maid Premium Light -- 1/2 the calories and sugar of orange juice," said Adriana Salinas, Minute Maid Associate Brand Manager. "Consumer testing scores of this advertisement were significantly above average. We believe this spot is very likeable and engaging to consumers and will ultimately drive sales for this great-tasting product."

The Coca-Cola Company introduced Minute Maid Premium Light last month, as a great alternative for Americans who are looking for ways to reduce calories without sacrificing good taste. The product should be on stores shelves nationwide by the end of July.

Minute Maid Premium Light contains just 50 calories and 10 grams of sugar per 8-fluid-ounce serving (vs. 110 calories and 24 grams of sugar per 8-fluid-ounce serving of orange juice). In addition, Minute Maid Premium Light also offers nutrients needed for a balanced diet, including 120 percent of the Daily Value (DV) for vitamin C, and as much calcium (35 percent DV) and vitamin D (25 percent DV) as a glass of milk in every 8-fluid-ounce serving. It also contains 13 percent of the DV for potassium and 10 percent of the DV for thiamin.
