All four JGR cars starting in the top 11: Kyle Busch couldn't make it four in a row at 'powerball' Talladega, but he could earn his fourth straight non-restrictor plate win of the season with a win at Dover on Sunday. He -- and his teammates -- certainly have a good start, in terms of qualifying positions. Busch, who won the most recent race at Dover in the fall with a late pass on Chase Elliott, starts fourth, while Daniel Suarez will roll off the grid seventh. Denny Hamlin and Erik Jones will start 10th and 11th, respectively.

Ford looks to finally tame the Monster again: A trio of Ford drivers -- Paul Menard, Joey Logano and Aric Almirola -- led Dover’s three practice sessions. The blue oval has been strong in 2018, picking up five wins thus far among three drivers. But the manufacturer and Miles the Monster haven't gotten along in recent years; Ford has not visited Victory Lane in a Monster Energy Series race at Dover since 2011 when Matt Kenseth took the checkered flag in his No. 17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford.

Can Kyle Larson or Jimmie Johnson get his first win of 2018? Larson is riding a 20-race winless streak in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. That's not terribly long, but the No. 42 had a win and four runner-up finishes at this point last season. Winning the pole at Dover puts the No. 42 in a solid position heading into Sunday's race. Johnson, likewise, hasn't won since the Dover spring race last year (June 2017) and the 11-time Monster Mile winner will look to turn it around after starting 19th.

Home sweet home: Reigning champion Martin Truex Jr. is in familiar territory this weekend at Dover, a place considered one of his many home tracks, he quipped. 'I have a lot of memories coming to this race track,' the New Jersey native said Friday. 'A lot of really, really good memories, a lot of success, a lot of special times ... love the race track, love the part of the country and looking forward to hopefully having a great weekend.' His recent stats aren't bad, either; the 2016 Dover winner has an average finish of 5.88 in his past eight races at the Delaware track.
