You can always expect the unexpected in NASCAR's All-Star Race, and these stats prove it. Here are some interesting facts you need to know ahead of Saturday night's Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (8 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, SiriusXM), courtesy of Racing Insights.

Denny Hamlin has the third-best all-time consecutive top-10 finishes in All-Star Race history with a six-race streak. Matt Kenseth holds the most with nine straight top-10 results, followed by Dale Earnhardt with seven. Hamlin is one of two active drivers to win the All-Star Race and not a points-paying event at Charlotte -- Ryan Newman is the other.

Joey Logano became the fifth-youngest All-Star Race winner when he won the exhibition event in 2016 at the age of 25 years, 11 months and 27 days. The No. 22 Team Penske driver is also the only driver under the age of 31 to win the All-Star Race in the last 10 years.

Experience often prevails in the All-Star Race as defending All-Star Race winner Kevin Harvick became the fourth-oldest driver to win at 42 years, five months and 11 days old.

Kyle Busch is second on the all-time laps led list for the All-Star Race behind Bill Elliott. The No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing driver has led 256 laps, adding a race win to his resume in 2017. Four-time All-Star Race winner Jimmie Johnson is a close third with 238 laps led.

Brad Keselowski is the only driver in All-Star Race history to lead more than 100 laps in the event over the course of his career without a victory.

Ryan Newman is one of only two rookies to win the All-Star Race with his victory in 2002. The other was Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2000. Newman is also one of only two drivers to win the event prior to winning their first points-paying race, the other being Michael Waltrip in 1996.

Among drivers who have won series championships in the All-Star Race era, only four drivers have failed to score a victory in the non-points event. Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. are on the list, which also includes retired drivers Bobby Labonte and Dale Jarrett. Keselowski owns two runner-up finishes (2012, ’16), while Truex Jr. finished second in 2010.

Kurt Busch is one of two active drivers to have won the All-Star Race and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same year, accomplishing the feat in 2010. Jimmie Johnson did the same in 2003.

When it comes to the All-Star Race, Hendrick Motorsports dominates. The organization holds eight wins all-time, double that of Richard Childress Racing and Roush Fenway Racing, who each have four all-time victories apiece.

Hendrick Motorsports also holds the most All-Star Open wins all-time with four total victories in the qualifying event, followed by Chip Ganassi Racing with three wins. That stats bodes well for drivers like Alex Bowman, William Byron and Kyle Larson, who will need to race their way into the big show Saturday night.
