Through the Ryan Blaney Foundation, the public had the opportunity to donate to the Alzheimer's Association in exchange for nominating the name of a loved one affected by the disease to be placed on the decklid of the No. 12 Team Penske Ford at Chicagoland Speedway. After the race, the decklid will be cut and the 130 names will become a keepsake for the families who participated.

Ryan Blaney is sporting special gloves this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway in honor of Alzheimer's awareness. The purple lettering printed on the gloves is representative of the official color for the cause. The fight for a cure hits home for Blaney after losing his grandfather, Lou, to the disease in 2009. "It really means a lot. We are just trying to do all we can with this foundation that we just started. We went to Lehigh Valley Hopsital up in Pennsylvania earlier this week and we were able to talk to some of the doctors there about what they are doing. Any help we can provide will hopefully go a long way."
