Jeff Gordon and Rusty Wallace have finished first and second on 10 occasions in the NASCAR Cup Series, with Gordon winning eight of those 10 races. Take a look back at each time the NASCAR Hall of Fame drivers battled head-to-head for victory.

Winner: Jeff Gordon

Second: Rusty Wallace

Summary: Although Wallace led 187 of the 400 laps, it was Gordon who rose to the top, passing Ricky Rudd for the lead with nine laps left to earn his first career NASCAR Cup Series victory.

Summary: Wallace led 101 laps, but it was Gordon who took home the trophy after leading 205 circuits, passing Mark Martin with 99 laps to go and never looking back.

Summary: There was no question Wallace had the strongest car all day in this one, as he led 353 laps compared to Gordon's 93 laps, including the final 161 circuits after passing Gordon on Lap 340.

Summary: After starting third, Gordon took the lead on Lap 42, sporadically leading 204 laps on his way to victory. Wallace didn't get to the front, but he was able to manage a second-place result after starting sixth.

Second: Rusty Wallace

Summary: The one with the bump-and-run. It was Wallace's race to lose, leading 240 circuits, but it was the last lap that gave him trouble. Gordon caught up to Wallace on the white-flag lap, laying his bumper to the No. 2 car in Turn 4 and taking victory.

Summary: Typically a 400-lap race, this running of the Coca-Cola 600 was shortened to 333 laps due to rain. Gordon took the lead away from Wallace with 17 laps to go, holding off the No. 2 car after Dale Jarrett blew an engine on the final lap as they raced to the checkered flag.

Winner: Jeff Gordon

Second: Rusty Wallace

Summary: After the pair of drivers hit heavy lapped traffic while battling for the lead, Gordon took the lead away from Wallace with 31 laps to go to earn his 30th career victory.

Summary: For the third and final time, Gordon and Wallace finished 1-2 in the Coca-Cola 600, and for the third time, Gordon won. After starting on pole, Gordon passed Wallace with 10 laps remaining to secure the victory.
