Oct. 11, 2003: Tony Stewart beat Ryan Newman by .608 seconds in the Cup Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Greg Biffle won the Xfinity Series race at Charlotte that day. The Gander Trucks were at Texas Motor Speedway, where Brendan Gaughan was victorious.

May 10, 1997: Mark Martin beat Dale Earnhardt at Talladega Superspeedway by .146 seconds to win the Winston 500. At New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Mike McLaughlin won in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. And in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, Rich Bickle beat Jack Sprague by .319 seconds at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington.

May 21, 1961: At Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Cup Series held two qualifying races and the World 600. David Pearson (pictured) beat out Fireball Roberts for the 600 crown-jewel victory after Richard Petty and Joe Weatherly won the qualifying races. Meanwhile, Lloyd Dane won at Riverside International Raceway on the same day in the California road course's second-ever Cup Series event.

Oct. 14, 1951: The South, Northeast and West Coast were all sites for NASCAR Cup Series races on this day. Frank Mundy bested Lee Petty at Martinsville Speedway (pictured). Across the country, in Oakland, California, Marvin Burke notched his only Cup Series win. And at Pine Grove Speedway in Shippenville, Pennsylvania, Tim Flock took home top honors.
