Jeremy Clements drives No. 51 Chevrolet to 13th-place finish at Dover International Speedway


Jeremy Clements finished 13th in the Drydene 200 at Dover International Speedway on Saturday.

Clements’ result added 24 points to his season total. Clements is now 13th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings with 405 points. A total of 12 drivers make the playoffs.

Clements started in seventh position. The 15th-year driver has one career victory, with four top-five finishes and 23 results inside the top 10.

Over the course of his career at Dover International Speedway, Clements has started 19 races, completed 17 of them, and compiled two top-10 finishes.

The Spartanburg, South Carolina native’s starting and finishing positions compared favorably to his career averages, starting 18 spots higher than his career mark of 25 and completing the race 10 places ahead of his 23.4 career average finish.

Clements’ 13th-place finish was against a field of 36 drivers. The race endured six cautions and 27 caution laps. Prior to the checkered flag there were six lead changes.

Justin Allgaier earned the victory in the race, and Austin Cindric followed in second. Ross Chastain crossed the finish line third, Noah Gragson took fourth, and Harrison Burton rounded out the top five.

After Cindric won Stage 1, Allgaier grabbed control and won Stage 2 before driving to victory.
