About 125 kids ages 7-14 went on a special field trip Wednesday to Charlotte Motor Speedway for Camp LUCK, a medically-supervised camp for children with heart disease. The camp, based in Charlotte, was founded by 2016 by Comcast Community Champion of the Year, Wade Jackson.
During the event, XFINITY Series drivers such as JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier and Richard Childress Racing’s Brandon Jones and Daniel Hemric stopped for a meet-and-greet with the kids and to show them around garages and pit road.
Additionally, the kids were able to watch a pit stop by the No. 2 RCR XFINITY Series pit crew, an event arranged by 2016 award finalist and RCR pit crew coach Ray Wright.
