1. Chase Briscoe, 2,050 points
Stewart-Haas Racing, No. 98 Ford
Reached playoffs by: 7 wins (Las Vegas-1, Darlington-1, Homestead-2, Pocono, Indy Road Course, Dover-2, Bristol-2)
Outlook: Before the season's start, Briscoe set an eight-win goal for himself, noting anything short of that would be a disappointment. With seven victories, it's likely the championship favorite will match or surpass his goal. He has wins at two of the three tracks in the Round of 12 (Las Vegas, Charlotte Roval), so look for him to start strong and stay near the top.

2. Austin Cindric, 2,050 points
Team Penske, No. 22 Ford
Reached playoffs by: 5 wins (Kentucky-1, Kentucky-2, Texas-1, Road America, Daytona Road Course)
Outlook: Cindric backed up his two-win season in 2019 with five triumphs in 2020. He and fellow Ford driver Briscoe have been the class of the field since NASCAR's return from the COVID-19 pause. The 22-year-old hasn't finished worse than 12th since June at Pocono, earning all five wins in that span. Like Briscoe, it would be hard to believe if Cindric doesn't make the Championship 4.

3. Justin Allgaier, 2,033 points
JR Motorsport, No. 7 Chevrolet
Reached playoffs by: 3 wins (Dover-1, Richmond-1, Richmond-2)
Outlook: Allgaier had an up-and-down run in the regular season, with nine finishes of 12th or worse in the first 18 races. But he's been able to click off three wins over the span of seven races. Allgaier could be getting hot at just the right time. To start, Las Vegas is home to his best average finish at 8.5.

4. Noah Gragson, 2,025 points
JR Motorsports, No. 9 Chevrolet
Reached playoffs by: 2 wins (Daytona-1, Bristol-1)
Outlook: Gragson has been consistent in the first 26 races of the year with 11 top fives and 19 top 10s. He's solid on 1.5-milers, superspeedways and road courses, which make up the Round of 12. Look for that consistency to continue as he heads into the postseason with a stretch of eight top-10 results in the past nine races.

5. Brandon Jones, 2,020 points
Joe Gibbs Racing, No. 19 Toyota
Reached playoffs by: 3 wins (Phoenix-1, Kansas-1, Darlington-2)
Outlook: Jones is enjoying the best season of his career with three wins, eight top fives and 14 top 10s heading into the postseason. If he can get through to the Championship 4, his spring win at Phoenix Raceway bodes well for his chances to earn his first title in his fifth full-time season.

6. Justin Haley, 2,018 points
Kaulig Racing, No. 11 Chevrolet
Reached playoffs by: 2 wins (Talladega-1, Daytona-2)
Outlook: Haley is having a steady season with two wins, eight top fives and 16 top 10s. Both of his victories have come at superspeedways, so the Round of 12 visit to Talladega Superspeedway might not be as scary for him. Regardless, if he keeps up the consistency and can sprinkle in a win or two, the Championship 4 is a possibility.

7. Harrison Burton, 2,014 points
Joe Gibbs Racing, No. 20 Toyota
Reached playoffs by: 2 wins (Auto Club, Homestead-1)
Outlook: While he earned both victories early in the season, it's the consistency that has worked out for Burton. With 13 top fives and 18 top 10s, the young driver only has three finishes of 20th or worse. Coming off a pair of fourth-place finishes at Richmond and Bristol, Burton is right there to snag another win or two in the postseason.

8. Ross Chastain, 2,010 points
Kaulig Racing, No. 10 Chevrolet
Reached playoffs by: Points, ranked third before the standings were re-seeded
Outlook: Although Chastain is winless this season and coming off a heartbreaker at Bristol, he's been close with five runner-up finishes in the regular season. As he gets shipped up to the Cup Series to drive the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet in 2021, he'll want to make the most of these next seven weeks. If he can win, he'll be dangerous.

9.Ryan Sieg, 2,002 points
RSS Racing, No. 39 Chevrolet
Reached playoffs by: Points, ranked 11th before the standings were re-seeded
Outlook: This is the second straight season Sieg has been able to point his way into the playoffs. While it will take some work to get into the Round of 8, Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the site of a third-place finish in the spring, one of four top fives he earned in the regular season.

10. Michael Annett, 2,002 points
JR Motorsports, No. 1 Chevrolet
Reached playoffs by: Points, ranked ninth before the standings were re-seeded
Outlook: Winless in 2020 so far, Annett will need to break into Victory Lane if he wants to make a deep playoff run, but his recent consistency is on his side. In the last 15 races, he has only two finishes outside the top 10. That's what you need to give yourself a shot in the postseason, so he's capable. Now it's time to execute.

11. Riley Herbst, 2,001 points
Joe Gibbs Racing, No. 18 Toyota
Reached playoffs by: Points, ranked 10th before the standings were re-seeded
Outlook: It's been a roller-coaster season for Herbst in his rookie year with four top fives, 16 top 10s and five DNFs. Outside of a 34th-place result at Richmond, he has seven finishes in the top 10 since the Daytona Road Course. The finishes are there; now he just needs to take it to the next level when it matters the most.

12. Brandon Brown, 2,000 points
Brandonbilt Motorsports, No. 68 Chevrolet
Reached playoffs by: Points, ranked 12th before the standings were re-seeded
Outlook: Brown is the feel-good story of the 2020 playoffs. The 27-year-old driver is getting everything he can out of his family-owned machine. He'll need more than just top-10 runs to make it to the next round, but the hopes of leasing engines from Richard Childress Racing for the postseason may give him the extra power he needs to make a Cinderella story happen.
