Not the World Series, but Erik Jones conquered New Smyrna as a 15-year-old in 2011. The Michigan driver led every lap - holding off New Smyrna veteran David Rogers - to win the Florida Governor's Cup that November.

In his first asphalt stock car start, Kyle Larson edged Ben Kennedy on a final restart to claim the Pete Orr Memorial Orange Blossom 100 on Feb. 11, 2012. Larson followed up his first NASCAR win and two seconds in six starts during the 2012 World Series.

Christopher Bell made three starts in 2015 in the Super Late Model Division during the World Series at New Smyrna. On the final night, the then 20-year-old 20, won his first NASCAR Super Late Model race, pulled away from a 14-year-old Harrison Burton to take the Bruce Gowland Memorial 100.

From a 16-year-old racing the banked half-mile, Ryan Preece has come a long way. The Connecticut driver has eight wins - including three in the prestigious Richie Evans/Ted Christopher Memorial 100. He won the championship from 2015-17 to became just the third driver to win three or more consecutive Modified titles - joining Evans and Christopher.
