Monadnock Speedway has been in operation since 1971, when it was carved out of a gravel pit in Winchester, New Hampshire, by original owner Bill Brown.

The track has gone through multiple owners since that time, with Larry Cirillo and Fred Pafumi owning the track for more than 30 years. The facility was sold to current owner Norm Wrenn Jr. late in 2018.

The quarter-mile paved oval underwent several renovations following Wrenn's acquisition. Among them were new grandstands, which were installed in time for the 2019 season. The track was completely repaved prior to the start of the 2024 season.

The track is a part of the NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts and is headlined by the 604 Modified division.

Monadnock Speedway generally opens its weekly racing season in late April or early May, with racing continuing through mid-September.

The series now known as the ARCA Menards Series East has raced at the quarter-mile bullring, with drivers like Dave Dion, Pete Silva, Mike Rowe, Stub Fadden and Bobby Dragon among those earning victories. The series last visited Monadnock in 1995.
